Scholarship Application Process
Study Abroad Scholarships
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences awards 10-15 scholarships each semester for students participating in education abroad. Typical scholarships for short-term programs are $500.00 and for semester-long programs is $1,000.00. The number of scholarships awarded each semester varies with available funding.
Instructions for Completing the 2009-2010 Education Abroad Scholarship Application:
- Complete the online portion of the application and click "submit" upon completion of the on-line application: https://survey.vt.edu/survey/entry.jsp?id=1256561789138
- Complete the two required essays and coversheet, as explained in the online application.
- Submit your TWO (2) essays, with coversheet, to LaRae Davenport in 238 Wallace Hall by the deadline, 3:00pm on Monday, October 26, 2009. (Late submissions WILL NOT be accepted).
- Students will be notified of decisions by the end of November.

CLAHS has changed the scholarship application process.
You must complete all 4 steps below in order to apply.
| 1. | Review the listing of scholarships and decide which ones you are applying for. Make a list of your choices. |
| 2. | Proceed to the on-line General Scholarship Application (when available). |
| 3. | Complete all necessary additional requirements for the specific scholarship for which you are applying to complete the application process. |
| 4. | After filling out the on-line CLAHS General Scholarship Application, hand deliver ALL additional required materials (see #3 above) to LaRae Davenport in Wallace Hall 238. For any further questions, please contact LaRae Davenport at (540) 231-3325 or larae@vt.edu. |
