Metro Productions/Hampton Productions
Former Intern Information: Lauren Rossi, lrossi88@vt.edu (Communication)
Paid Internship? No
Duties: established a photo database for one of my supervisor's projects and did miscellaneous research for him. I also helped out an several studio shoots in Richmond -- observing, helping clean up, and acting as PA. I handled talent release forms at Hampton shoots and helped set up the shoots. At the end of my internship, I was able to create my own commercial that allowed me to apply everything I had learned.
Quote: "I think this internship is a good fit for someone more interested in the technology/computer aspect of video production. The Hampton office created commercials for the Vacation Channel, so we had shoots, but my supervisors were also creating animated games and videos for outside companies. It would be a good intership for someone interested in using programs such as Maya, AfterEffects, and the Avid editing suite."

You work first-hand with the production and post-production teams as well as the camera crew, so you see the entire scope of the television production process.
