Education Abroad

The College of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences encourages students to participate in education abroad programs to enrich their college experience. Students are usually given credit at Virginia Tech for courses taken abroad.

CLAHS Education Abroad Scholarships
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences awards scholarships each semester for students participating in education abroad.  Typical scholarships vary in value from $500.00 - $1,000.00.  The number of scholarships awarded each semester varies with available funding.

Instructions for Completing the 2011-2012 Education Abroad Scholarship Application (DEADLINE: 3pm, Monday February 27, 2012):

1. Complete the online portion of the application and click "submit" upon completion of the on-line application (click link below to view and submit application): http://www.uaao.clahs.vt.edu/studyabroad.html
2. Complete the two required essays and coversheet, as explained in the online application.
3. Email your TWO (2) essays, with coversheet, to Wendy Vaughn (vaughnw@vt.edu) by the deadline, 3:00pm on Monday, February 27, 2012. (Late submissions WILL NOT be accepted).
4. Students will be notified of decisions via letter to their local mailing address, by the end of March 12, 2012.
